Currently available is the 2nd generation iPod Touch running the iPhone OS 3.0 operating system and manufactured by Apple. As most of us already know it is a digital portable media player and could even be considered as a personal digital assistant as well, just due to the amount of functionality and applications that you can run on it.

The weight of the newer ipod touch is slightly less then the 1st gen version which was just 120 grams (or 4.2 ounces) and the
2nd generation device now weighs in at 115 grams (which is 4.05 ounces).

For you teckies you’ll want to know that the CPU on the first generation ipod touch was the ARM11 400 MHz and for the second generation it is the ARM11 specified at 620 MHz but actually clocked down to just 533MHZ with the internal ARM7 core for Jazelle acceleration. Memory is 128 megabyte DRAM.
